Hamilton Ohio Pride was formed by the Fitton Center for Creative Arts and other community members in the winter of 2019, marking the beginning of a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusion in the community. The journey began with plans for an inaugural event in June 2020; however, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of this much-anticipated gathering.

In 2021, Hamilton Ohio Pride successfully launched its first annual event, featuring a concert by The Skivies. This event laid the foundation for future celebrations and fostered a sense of unity among attendees.

Building on this momentum, the second annual event took place in 2022, with a concert featuring We Three Queens. The growing enthusiasm and support from the community showcased the importance of the Pride movement in Hamilton.

In 2023, the third annual event featured an exciting concert by Material Girl, The Fame Monster, further solidifying Hamilton Ohio Pride's reputation as a key event in the region.

As Hamilton Ohio Pride entered its fourth year in 2024, a significant change was implemented: the event shifted away from a concert format. Instead, the Pride organization participated in the 4th of July Parade for the first time, with our very own Taylor Stone-Welch serving as the grand marshal, recognized as Citizen of the Year. This change emphasized community engagement and visibility.

Looking ahead to 2025, Hamilton Ohio Pride is set to celebrate its fifth annual event, continuing to promote inclusivity and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Hamilton. The organization's journey reflects a commitment to fostering acceptance and pride within the community, making a lasting impact year after year.
